When i first saw it as a child i was really frightened, so am i still today.
Like in every good horror movie, the horror evolves in one´s mind. You can´t recognize the approaching death that lies beneath the water surface.
Today my attention lies in other great details, too. I love this special Seventies Feeling, that draws through the whole movie. Also the glasses of Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss look breathtakingly good. Especially that of Scheider.
Here, for the first time in film history as i can remember the Nerds are the ones who save the world. Steven Spielberg, himself a great nerd, wanted it this way. He established a trend, that continues until contemporary movies.
